Summary
Design, create, implement aquatic programming, manage all aquatic staff, create and follow annual budget, work closely with the Athletic Director/CPO to ensure regular maintenance and timely repair of pool facilities. Responsible for the safety and well-being of all patrons in and around the pool area in accordance with WAC rules and regulations; enforcing all pool/Club rules; keeping all records in accordance with WAC code; cleaning and maintaining pool area.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure the Club exceeds members' expectations in regards to aquatics participation at the Club.
- Responsible for communicating and upholding Club standards and leading by example for delivering the Spokane Club's exceptional service to all members.
- Supervision of aquatic department staff. This includes hiring, coaching, mentoring, disciplinary actions, staff scheduling, departmental meetings, orientations, training, and conducting emergency response drills required by WAC rules and regulations. Aquatics staff includes lifeguards, swim instructors, and swim coaches.
- Ensure Aquatics team members consistently execute exceptional customer service, punctuality, dress code compliance, friendliness, and cleanliness.
- Ensure that all aquatics staff have the required certifications upon hire and that all employee certifications remain current during employment at the Club.
- Cover (lifeguard) schedule when substitutes are not available (including absences due to illness, vacation, pregnancy etc.).
- Manage a safe, clean, friendly, and well-maintained aquatics facility.
- Conduct daily, weekly and monthly inspections of the aquatic facility to ensure safety and cleanliness standards are being met.
- Utilize CPO knowledge to assist Athletic Director and Engineering in maintaining pool facilities in accordance with WAC rules and regulations. Work closely with Athletic Director and Engineering for aquatic purchases
- - equipment, chemicals and other items that pertain to the pool and aquatics department.
- Inspect all equipment and chemicals to assist Athletic Director and Engineering in keeping these materials in working order.
- Responsible for the successful attainment of Aquatic Department goals and benchmarks, including revenue and member retention goals.
- Assist with the creation and development of the annual budget for the aquatic facility.
- Work with the aquatics team to host events for members. These events currently include pool parties, Swim Team Meets, and Masters programming.
- Work in conjunction with the Club's Communication Team to promote and market all aquatic events and activities to members.
- Administrative duties include: aquatic programming, budget creation & adherence, payroll, billing, aquatic section of the Spokane Club's quarterly publication, "eSignals".
- Maintain open communication with the Athletic Director. Attend all staff meetings and training sessions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Minimum of five years of management/ supervisory experience
- A minimum of 5 years swim instruction
- LGT certifications.
- LGI, CPO preferred
- BA or equivalent.
- CPR/AED & First Aid
