Childcare Provider - Part Time

The Not-for-Everyone Stuff:
These are kids. They will make you laugh, cry, and want to sigh all within a five-minute window! No two hours are the same. You never know what to expect and have to always be on your toes. Must be flexible in all ways - able to change plans, make adjustments, work extra hours to help out. Willing to get paint in your hair and dye on your hands. We are not looking for someone to stand on the sidelines and watch but someone who will get into the mix and enjoy these kids.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Report to work on time, in proper attire, and ready to spend energy with many children of varied ages
- Greet every child and parent, assist in getting children settled and involved with others
- Supervise parent sign-in and sign-out procedures
- Change diapers, assist with potty training, and feed babies/children as needed
- Be actively involved with children, facilitating art projects and games
- Continuously monitor the room, assist children in various areas, and keep toys out of walkways
- Answer phone and complete all requests, such as reservations
- Monitor inventory and notify the supervisor of needed supplies and forms
- Report any accidents or illnesses affecting children or employees to supervisor
- Maintain a full understanding of emergency procedures
- Attend all staff meetings and in-house training
- Acquire proper certifications - CPR, First Aid, and BBP training
- Substitute for other employees based on availability
- Work beyond the usual shift for occasional Junior Program events
- Process monthly billing for all childcare charges
Job Requirements:
Qualifications:
- 18 years or older
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience providing care for children of various ages
- Must be able to pass a background check
- First Aid and Infant CPR certified (or willing to acquire during employment)
- Ability to work unassisted at times
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position
- Positive attitude and pride in work
- Knowledge of sports such as soccer, basketball, and volleyball is helpful
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with arms
- Frequently required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and pick up infants and children
- Occasionally required to talk and hear
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift up to 40 pounds
- Requires close vision and hearing abilities
- Must maintain high standards of customer service while working with members, guests, and coworkers
- Ability to work both independently and as a team member in a positive manner
