What are the responsibilities and job description for the Swim Instructor position at Spokane Club Inc?
Responsible for teaching swim classes assigned by Aquatic Manager, safety and well-being of all students and patrons in and around pool area; maintaining all Red Cross forms and certifications. Responsible for delivery of a high level of customer service at all times. Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain current certifications in WSI, CPR and First Aid. Keep abreast of all trends and changes in the field of swimming.
- Must be present to instruct all classes of the session assigned to.
- Be courteous, polite and helpful to all members and guests of the Club, in person and on the phone.
- Have full and complete understanding of emergency procedures and the capability to perform them.
- Maintain and keep all necessary records ie; attendance, schedule changes and Red Cross forms.
- Report any incidents, hazards or faulty equipment immediately to supervisor.
- Attend all staff meetings and other programs of in-service training.
- Report to work on time and perform other reasonable related duties as assigned by Aquatic Manager and or other Management staff as required.
- Work weekends, holidays if required. Be able to substitute for other employees on an availability basis.
- Responsible for obtaining your own substitute for any shift changes.
Special Note: Highly qualified instructors without a Water Safety Instructor Certification will be considered, but must be knowledgeable swimmers and great with kids.

- Red Cross Water Safety Instructor or equivalent.
- High School or equivalent.
- 18 years or older
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen
- Positive attitude; takes pride and ownership in job
- Customer-service orientation to create an atmosphere of genuine care for members and guests and to provide a high level of personalized service.
- Ability to think and act quickly, problem solve, and perform effectively under pressure while maintaining a professional, helpful, and poised demeanor.
