Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled & dedicated Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintaining & repairing industrial equipment, with a focus on diesel engine repair. As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, & ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently & safely. Your expertise in schematics & the use of both power & hand tools will be essential in this role.
(**$1,000.00 sign on bonus after 12-months**)
Duties
- Diagnose, repair, & replace various components on forklifts, including both mechanical & electrical systems.
- Troubleshoot & identify issues with lift trucks to determine faults, failures, or the extent of malfunction/damage.
- Access mechanical components by working beneath equipment as necessary.
- Use a variety of tools, including hand tools, pneumatic tools, forklift jacks, & hoists, to remove & replace faulty components.
- Disassemble units & inspect parts for wear & damage.
- Rebuild & repair faulty components or assemblies as required.
- Perform repairs & servicing on electrical systems.
- Inspect, adjust, repair, & rebuild brake systems to ensure proper function.
- Read diagnostic displays & fault codes.
- Download & install necessary software updates.
- Replace & adjust lights & accessories as required, including installing new components.
- Test and adjust repaired systems to meet manufacturer performance specifications.
- Conduct routine maintenance services such as lubrication, tune-ups, & system checks.
- Test drive forklifts & evaluate the performance of components & systems after repair.
- Perform pre-delivery inspections & assembly of new forklifts as required.
- This version presents the tasks in a clear, professional manner, emphasizing technical skills & attention to detail. Diagnose & troubleshoot mechanical & electrical issues in industrial equipment.
- Perform maintenance & repairs on diesel engines to ensure optimal performance.
- Align components as necessary to meet operational standards.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of service requests.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including parts used & time spent on repairs.
- Adhere to safety protocols while working on equipment to prevent accidents or injuries.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a mechanic or service technician, preferably in a dealership or industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engine repair techniques & practices.
- Familiarity with electrical systems & troubleshooting methods.
- Proficiency in reading schematics & technical manuals related to industrial equipment.
- Ability to use various power tools & hand tools safely & effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal & written, for effective teamwork.
- A valid driver's license may be required for this position.
