FUNCTION: The Buyer is responsible for overseeing and maintaining inventory levels, sourcing product from vendors, assisting with developing procurement plans and strategies. The Buyer researches, analyzes, and forecasts current and future trends, markets, styles, and products in accordance with our sales and operational requirements.
CHARACTERISICS OF A SUCCESSFUL BUYER: Accurate and detail-oriented, strong negotiation and mathematical skills, ability to multi-task, organized, critical thinker, problem solver, manages time effectively.
REPORTS TO: Director of Procurement
WORKS REGULARLY WITH: Accounting, Vendors, Sales, Marketing, Warehouse, President, CFO, Commercial Division, and Procurement.
KEY FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee assigned inventory lines by monitoring and maintaining stock levels.
- Evaluate purchases based on price, reliability, capability, and previous transaction history.
- Coordinating with suppliers to ensure orders are delivered on time.
- Track and implement factory promotions, price changes, and setup new items.
- Ensure purchasing documents are complete and accurate.
- Research cost discrepancies between vendor invoices and purchase orders.
- Communicates with vendors to understand discounts, multipliers, and other rebates.
- Provides administrative and clerical support to the department.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.

- Ability to multitask and prioritize accordingly to complete tasks within time constraints.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3 years of purchasing experience required.
- Knowledge of functional and decorative hardware for residential, commercial, or millwork industries a plus.
- Proficient at Microsoft Excel.
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
COMPENSATION:
- $24.00-$29.00 per hour

This is a full-time, non-exempt position that works a standard work week Monday to Friday.
