INTRODUCTION :
The Recovery Outreach Manager will provide comprehensive outreach, support, and recovery services to individuals and families affected by substance use disorders and mental health issues within the Spokane Indian Reservation. This role involves direct interaction with clients, collaboration with community organizations, and coordination of recovery resources to enhance the wellbeing and resilience of the Spokane Tribe.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Coordinate schedules for Peer Support Specialists and other team members to ensure consistent program delivery.
Supervise a team of Peer Support Specialists, ensuring adherence to program policies and protocols.
Conduct performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and identify training needs for team members.
Act as an advocate for individuals in recovery, promoting a positive and inclusive recovery culture.
Develop and maintain systems for tracking program outcomes, including participants progress, attendance, and service utilization.
Evaluate program effectiveness and recommend improvements or adjustments to better serve the community.
Manage program budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources and compliance with funding guidelines.
Facilitate cultural activities such as sweats, healing circles, and traditional ceremonies.
Conduct outreach to tribal members and the community to promote awareness of recovery services and events.
Establish and maintain positive relationships with internal departments, community organizations, and stakeholders.
Develop and distribute program materials, including flyers, newsletters, and social media updates, to ensure program visibility.
Assist individuals in accessing recovery support services and navigating resources.
Organize and facilitate team meetings to discuss program updates, challenges, etc.
Support the integration of traditional Spokane tribal practices into all aspects of the Recovery Outreach Program.
Coordinate and attend training sessions for staff and community members to increase awareness and knowledge of recovery support.
Organize workshops and educational classes on topics related to recovery, wellness, and community health.
Identify and address risks or challenges within the program to ensure participants safety and program integrity.
Assist with other HHS Department initiatives or events as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED :
Knowledge of Substance Use Disorders and Mental Health :
Understanding of treatment, prevention, and aftercare therapy regarding substance use disorders.
Ability to provide individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and symptom management.
Proficiency in conducting client assessments, developing treatment plans, and coordinating care.
Knowledge of the unique issues encountered by the Native American community.
Ability to provide culturally sensitive counseling and support services.
Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to educate and support clients' families and advocate for clients' rights.
Experience in coordinating with community agencies, schools, and other tribal organizations.
Proficiency in managing multiple funding sources and ensuring compliance with grant
Ability to use electronic health records and other relevant software applications.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to live a clean and sober lifestyle.
Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with current research and best practices in substance use and mental health counseling.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :
Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field
5 years of work experience in a Behavioral Health related agency
Demonstrated lived experience with substance use recovery may be considered in lieu of formal education or work experience in certain cases.
Valid Drivers License and a good driving record
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Previous experience working with Native American clientele.
Demonstrated lived experience with substance use recovery.
CERTIFICATIONS :
Certified Peer Specialist or Peer Specialist Trainee Credential (or ability to obtain within six months of hire).
First Aid / CPR certification (or ability to obtain within six months of hire).
Suicide prevention certification (or ability to obtain within six months of hire).
Mental Health First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within six months of hire).
Certified in Tobacco Intervention for Native Communities (or ability to obtain within six months of hire).
