Duties
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations and procedures.
- Provide excellent front desk support, including scheduling appointments and managing patient records.
- Handle animals with care, ensuring their safety and comfort during visits.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including kennels and examination rooms.
- Administer medications as directed by the veterinarian and monitor animal responses.
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
- Utilize aseptic techniques during procedures to ensure a sterile environment.
- Keep up-to-date with veterinary terminology to effectively communicate with the team.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a veterinary setting is required
- Strong knowledge of animal physiology and behavior is a plus.
- Ability to handle dogs and other animals safely and compassionately.
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology is beneficial for effective communication.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for maintaining records and managing tasks.
- Ability to work well in a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- Must be able to lift animals as needed, which may include weights of up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Surgical preparation and assisting
- Pharmacy
- Patient recovery
- Proficiency in phlebotomy, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring
- Dentistry
- Perform quality full body and dental radiographs
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with coworkers and clients
- Obtain and record patient history and client communication in a professional, detailed manner
- Provide surgical discharges and home care instructions to clients after patient procedures
- Administering vaccines and medications
