Overview
The Sponsored Residential Provider (Backup) plays a crucial role in delivering compassionate care to an individualbwith diverse needs in a supportive residential setting. As a backup provider, you will step in as needed to ensure continuity of care and support within the home environment.
Duties
- Provide personal care and assistance to residents, including support with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor residents for any changes in health or behavior.
- Assist with mobility of residents, ensuring safety and comfort at all times.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment by adhering to hygiene standards and performing light housekeeping tasks.
- Engage residents in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive engagement.
- Collaborate with other caregivers, healthcare professionals, and family members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Document care provided and any significant observations regarding resident well-being.
Experience
- Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or group home settings is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with medication administration systems and protocols is beneficial.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members.
- A compassionate nature with a commitment to providing high-quality care in a residential setting.
The role requires successful completion of 32-hour medication administration course, first aid & CPR training, and other online training mandated by Medicaid. Training will be paid by employer and must be completed before starting employment.
