What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Programs Manager position at Spooky Nook Sports Ohio, LLC?
Design, develop and implement programs, activities and events for member and nonmember youth. Including but not limited to camps, clinics, classes, out of school time programs, and activities for children of all ages.
NOTE: Because this position will involve routine interaction with children, all candidates must successfully obtain the following clearances PRIOR to beginning employment:
- Ohio BCI
- FBI Fingerprint-based criminal history clearance.
If you do not already have these, we recommend obtaining these as soon as possible to ensure your employment can begin promptly, as results may take up to 4 weeks to arrive. You must possess the “Employment” versions of each clearance and not the “Volunteer” versions.

Essential Job Functions
- Design, deliver and evaluate fun and enriching Youth Programs that meet the needs and interests of youth and ensure their delivery in a safe and quality manner.
- Implement human resource management practices to recruit and retain seasonal and year-round staff.
- Create and keep the Youth Programs budget.
- Purchase and maintain inventory for supplies and equipment.
- Oversee the daily operation of general Youth Programs including food service, hospitality, program business and assist with child watch.
- Ensure that Youth Program staff and participants know and follow safety and educational procedures during programs.
- Manage, market, and facilitate summer camp programs, including, and not limited to, field trips and special guest presentations.
- Assist in the management and care of the physical facilities and equipment in all program areas.
- Develop and implement schedules and records for all areas of Youth Program and facilities.
- Produce children’s communications for members and events including schedules and lesson plans.
- Interact with other departments to promote youth programs.
- Attend staff meetings as scheduled.
- Increase total youth program enrollment.
- Complete administrative tasks including, and not limited to, printing attendance sheets, rosters, and parent paperwork.
- Performs other appropriate tasks as assigned by the Director or Programming Operations.
Basic Qualifications
- 21 years of age or older
- High energy, athletic and enthusiastic
- Ability to multi-task and work in a very fast-paced environment; a team player who is self-motivated and driven
- Outstanding communication skills and analytical planning abilities
- Dependable transportation to and from work
- Ability to fulfill the physical requirements of the position with any reasonable accommodations as necessary
- Available to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Health, Physical Education, Recreation, Education, Human Services Studies, or related field
- A minimum of 3-5 years of Member/Program Service experience is required
- Current CPR/AED certification
- Bilingual with experience communicating with individuals of diverse demographics
- Ability to represent Nook Sports in public forums
Working Conditions
- Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Physical requirements necessary include walking, standing, bending, lifting, sitting, reaching, and typing on a computer for long periods of time.
