Responsible for the daily operations of Nook Recreational Camps. The Camp Counselor is responsible for following and implementing lesson plans & activities, assuring the safety and supervision of a specific group of children during camp hours, and has an upbeat & engaging manner. This is a part time, seasonal position that runs from June 2nd-August 8th Monday-Friday. Work hours are Monday-Friday between 6:45am-6:00pm. There is NO CAMP on Friday July 4th, 2025.
The mandatory 2-day training for this position, if selected, will be during the week of May 26th-30th.

The following list contains typical duties of a Summer Camp Counselor at Spooky Nook Sports.
- Implementation of all lesson plans and daily schedules & activities
- Provide consistent supervision of campers, always focusing on safety. This includes adhering to Child Abuse Prevention procedures, sign in/out policy, completing incident reports and monitoring attendance.
- Greet and welcome parents and children in a warm, friendly, and timely manner.
- Initiate, develop and maintain personalized relationships with parents and their children.
- Professionally and promptly handle parent concerns, complaints and inquiries.
- Resolve child conflicts in a prompt and professional manner.
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment for children to play.
- Engage and interact with children of all ages and personalities.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with children in recreational or instructional setting
- Must have dependable transportation to and from work.
- Interactive and engaging with children of all ages and personalities.
- Available to be scheduled between the hours of 6:45am and 6pm on weekdays and attend mandatory camp training.
- Language skills: Fluent knowledge of the English language; including the ability to read and interpret written information and speak and understand verbal communication.
- Ability to fulfill the physical requirements of the position with any reasonable accommodation as necessary.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as needed.
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Current CPR/AED certification
- Must be able to follow directions both written and verbally.
- Pursuing a degree in education, recreation, sports management, or related field

- Physical requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the team member will be regularly required to perform physical activity that includes moving about the work area, standing, sitting, bending, reaching with hands and arms, lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, hearing and smelling. The team member will be frequently required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. He or she is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
- Lifting requirements: The team member will occasionally be required to lift, push, pull, lower and/or move up to 30 lbs occasionally.
