- Primary care of Infusion patients involves monitoring lab results, reviewing treatment plans, and managing infusion appointments. Additionally, nurses review Prior Auth/Insurance verification decisions to ensure alignment with current treatment plans. They also perform appointment reminder calls and treatment follow-up calls, while working with multidisciplinary teams to ensure best outcomes.

- Experience: Demonstrates evidence-based clinical practice, strong critical thinking, and strong IV start skills. Good communication skills are also essential.
- Schedule Information
- Shifts & Scheduling: The Infusion Therapy department operates Monday through Friday, from 7am-3:30pm and 8:30am-5pm. The facility is closed on holidays.
- Weekend Requirement: No weekend work is required.
- Holiday Requirement: No holiday work is required.
- Call or Standby Requirement: If census is low, a nurse may be called in, but this happens rarely.

- Average Number of Patients: Approximately 7 patients per day, with a maximum of 12-14 patients on some days.
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: The average ratio is 1:3-4, but can vary based on the patient census.
- Common Diagnoses: Oncology accounts for approximately 65% of encounters, with the remaining cases comprising Gastro, Rheumatology, Infectious Disease, and other conditions.
- Charge Nurse Availability: There is no charge nurse on each shift, but another nursing director will be available to provide support when needed.
- Nurse Aids: Medical assistants assist with administrative tasks and obtain insurance verification/Prior Auth, but do not currently participate in direct patient care.

- Scrub Policy: Personal scrubs are allowed, as long as they appear professional in appearance. Facial piercings must be neutral in color.
