The Assistant Athletic Trainer for Spooner’s primary role is a full-time outreach position with the Phoenix Rising Football Club. This position will seek to build elite-level care in the professional sport setting, teams, and collaborate as a liaison of care between Spooner and the applicable sports team.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Help develop, build and grow the relationship between applicable sports team and Spooner.
- Utilizes a wide range of concepts, principles, and methodologies of the therapeutic field to provide examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, intervention, and outcome assessment for soccer athletes.
- Assist in coordinating provision of onsite and offsite sports medicine healthcare services and care for athletes.
- Assist in coverage of applicable teams, as needed, but not to interfere with main role of the applicable sports team.
- Ensure that athletes’ complete needs are being met in the area of assessment, triage, evaluation, treatment, and return to play, and makes critical decisions on medical needs and return to play for athletes according to state licensure guidelines, and training.
- Act as the care coordinator for athletes in a timely manner and in close collaboration with providers within and outside the Spooner Sports Medicine Specialty Practice, as well as the clinic team and treating therapists.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Team in the development of marketing materials and public relations efforts specific to Spooner and the applicable sports team relationship and the successful achievement of program goals, relationship development, and communications efforts.
- Maintain a secure and safe working environment in accordance with OSHA regulations, as well as Spooner’s Safety Manual.
- Demonstrate reliable presence and active participation in scheduled meetings.
- Travel as needed - determined by the team.
What You Can Expect

What You Bring to the Role
- Required: Bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited athletic training program
- Required: BOC Certification
- Required: CPR certification
- Must be licensed in the state of employment or eligible for licensure
- Preferred: 3 years’ experience with acute sports injury evaluation and rehabilitation, ideally in the collegiate or professional soccer setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, specifically in regards to communication with coaches, physicians, physical/hand therapists, parents and athletes
- Excellent organizational skills and time-management skills and an ability to work with and report to different entities
- Excellent relationship-builder and customer service skills
- Demonstration of cross-departmental/company teamwork and collaboration
- Flexible schedule that meets the sports medicine needs of the applicable sports team
