What You'll be Doing
- Review status of patient accounts to identify and resolve billing and processing problems in a timely manner.
- Resolve edits related to coding; Obtain and review relevant documentation and ensure documentation supports services billed.
- Review account ledgers for accuracy and completeness and obtain any missing information.
- Review and analyzing claim denials in order to perform the appropriate resolution, rebilling, and/or appeals steps.
- Receive insurance or law office correspondence, such Explanation of Benefits (EOB) or other request for info and researches appropriate claims steps, such as first or second appeal.
- Communicate daily with insurance carriers, adjustors and attorney offices to track and check status of cases and open liability claims.
- Review and analyze settlement offers and negotiate with law offices when necessary.
- Prepare an analytical summary report identifying areas of concern by dollar amount, volume and accounts settled.
- Prioritize scheduling of incoming personal injury referrals and high-level communication with referring entities.
- Post settlement payments received from law firms or third-party liability carriers.
- Track improvement of targeted denials once process or system edits have developed to reduce/prevent future denials.
- Communicate with clients, attorneys and patients (as needed).

What You Bring to the Role
- Excellent communication skills with emphasis on customer service.
- Computer and data- entry proficient.
- A background in legal/liability services preferred.
- Basic level of skills with Microsoft Word, Excel and the ability to use other computer software.
