Our portfolio consists of SportBusiness Media, the most trusted independent source of media rights values and deals globally, SportBusiness Sponsorship, a leading source of global sponsorship deal data and activation, and SportBusiness, our daily news, insights, and analysis service for globally minded professionals in the industry. Alongside our regular reporting, we provide business intelligence and advice to help our clients develop their businesses.

The Role.

SportBusiness is uniquely placed to help global sports organizations unlock value at home and abroad. A key part of our strategy is to grow our commercial relationships with new and existing clients in North America. Today our core clients include the large broadcasters such as NBC Universal, Amazon & Netflix, international and domestic rights holders such as the NFL & the PGA Tour, and sports marketing agencies such as IMG, Wasserman & Revelvent. Our opportunity comes from working more closely with existing client and partnering with new clients in sectors such as technology companies, consultants, financiers and lawyers primarily in the US.


We are looking for an experienced business development professional who can build and execute a growth strategy for all of our products; enterprise subscriptions, reports, data insights and marketing services.


This is an opportunity for someone to capitalize on our brand and history and to lead the growth of SportBusiness in the US.



What you will own.


  • Developing and executing a growth strategy for the business for the America’s region with a focus on the US.
  • Building relationship with existing clients, with a focus on renewals and upselling new products or services.
  • Creating presentations, proposals and sales collateral that effectively communicate the value of working with SportBusiness
  • Exceeding revenue targets.
  • Collaborating with the editorial, insights and marketing teams to leverage our content calendar and other activities.
  • Maintaining accurate client information in Salesforce.
  • Reporting clearly on the sales pipeline and forecasting future revenues.
  • Representing the company at industry events.


What you will bring.


  • A track record of building client relationships and revenues.
  • Experience in business development, ideally in the sport sector.
  • The ability to work independently and to get things done.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to think creatively about solutions for clients, that go beyond individual products.
  • Experience using Salesforce
  • Strong commercial acumen.
