The Manager of The Victory Project will play a vital role in the success of our major fundraising while creating a comprehensive donor relations program to attract and retain supporters. Job Description
Essential Functions
- Manage event logistics, including venue coordination, vendor relations, sponsorship fulfillment, and volunteer oversight for the marquis events, including the annual Victory Gala and Sporting Invitational Golf Tournament.
- Identify, cultivate, and solicit corporate sponsors, major donors, and community partners.
- Work with Sporting KC’s marketing and communications teams to promote events and maximize attendance.
- Develop and implement a donor relations program to engage, recognize, and retain supporters.
- Maintain accurate donor records in Salesforce, track engagement, and provide timely acknowledgments and impact reports.
- Create and execute personalized stewardship plans for high-level donors.
- Serve as a key representative of The Victory Project in the community, fostering relationships with nonprofit organizations, corporate partners, and local stakeholders.
- Work with Sporting KC players, associates, and partners to support program initiatives and fundraising campaigns.
- Assist in coordinating logistics for Major League Soccer initiatives including annual campaigns: Kick Childhood Cancer, Special Olympics Unified Games, and Soccer For All.
- Identify new fundraising opportunities that promote the mission in the community.
- Work with Coordinator to respond to all community donation requests via email, standard mail and online requesting, identifying which donation requests to support and which to deny.
- Oversee the website and social media channels for TVP
- Manage Game Day Activations on behalf of TVP: GameDay Honoree, Special Olympics Unified Game, Kick Childhood Cancer and Soccer for All Kids.
- Ensure that spaces with The Victory Project messaging is organized and set for the next home game.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business, marketing, or related field.
- 4 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, or event management.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed for events and community engagements.
- Proficiency in donor management software (Salesforce and OneCause)
- Passion for community impact and a commitment to The Victory Project’s mission.
- Knowledge of best practices for non-profit websites and social media
- Experience working in sports philanthropy or a nonprofit.
- Knowledge of the Kansas City philanthropic landscape.
- Experience working with high-profile donors and corporate sponsors.
