About the Department :

The College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) is an innovative, inclusive, and cutting-edge college that prepares professionals to promote learning and development while contributing to research in human and organizational performance. The college, with nearly 130 full-time faculty members and more than 300 part-time faculty members, offers 27 academic programs across its three schools. About the Position :

The Director of Partnerships and Engagement is responsible for developing systems to cultivate business partnerships with school districts and other institutions to create new revenue streams for CEHD. Reporting to the Senior Director of Communications and Marketing, the incumbent serves in a leadership role to develop, implement, and assess business development strategies to support prospective student engagement, recruitment, and enrollment.

Responsibilities : Service

  • Serve as the liaison between academic program leaders and OSE, acting as the expert on business development;
  • Participate in the Office of Strategic Enrollment leadership team and various committees to build relationships for strategic partnerships;
  • Draft communications and present recommendations on business development topics to leadership;
  • Meet with program and school leadership regarding business development and enrollment;
  • Attend central meetings of various enrollment planning teams as necessary.

Strategic Planning

  • Establish clear business development assessment metrics;
  • Maintain transparency in reporting and establish a culture of evidence-based planning;
  • Draft strategic planning documents and communicate them to leadership;
  • Set revenue growth targets and develop strategies for new revenue streams.
  • Business Development Cultivation and Relationship Management

  • Research and implement new target market initiatives;
  • Develop custom proposals for prospective accounts;
  • Advise on the development of marketing assets for business development;
  • Collaborate with academic program leads to pursue leads through the sales cycle.
  • Business Development Administration

  • Oversee the administration of contracts and memorandums of understanding.
  • Required Qualifications :

  • Master’s degree in a related field;
  • Five or more years of relevant professional experience;
  • Demonstrated skill in strategic enrollment management;
  • Well-organized with outstanding multi-tasking skills;
  • Excellent customer service and vendor management skills;
  • Strong verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills;
  • Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license as per GMU’s requirements.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Considerable experience in higher education business development.
