Part Time Officials for Youth and Adult sports games

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable sports official to officiate games and ensure fair play in a variety of sports, particularly basketball, soccer, flag football, touch football, volleyball, baseball and softball. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sports, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage conflicts effectively. This role is essential in maintaining the integrity of the game while providing a positive experience for players and spectators alike.

Responsibilities

• Officiate basketball games by enforcing rules and regulations.
• Make quick decisions regarding fouls, violations, and other game-related issues.
• Communicate clearly with players, coaches, and spectators to explain calls and maintain order.
• Manage conflicts on the court by addressing disputes calmly and fairly.
• Ensure the safety of all participants by monitoring gameplay and enforcing safety protocols.
• Collaborate with other officials to ensure consistency in officiating throughout the game.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of the sport's rules and any updates or changes.

Skills

• Strong communication skills to effectively convey decisions and instructions.
• Experience in sports coaching or officiating, particularly in basketball.
• Proficient in conflict management to handle disputes professionally and calmly.
• Previous experience working with children is preferred, as this role often involves youth leagues.
• Ability to remain composed under pressure while making quick decisions during games.
