Warehouse Manager

Job Overview
Sports Specialists is a distributor of fishing tackle and related equipment supplying merchandise to retailers throughout the Midwest and much of the United States.

We warehouse more than 35,000 items and operate out of a 40,000 square foot facility in Germantown, WI. Our warehouse team presently consists of approximately 25 full and part-time individuals assigned to tasks of receiving inventory as well as picking, packing, and shipping orders. We are seeking a warehouse manager to oversee warehouse operations and work together with other members of our team

Objectives and responsibilities

• Oversee and manage daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage and order fulfillment
• Ensure that the warehouse operates at peek efficiency-with customer satisfaction the primary goal-by supervising, organizing, and training warehouse employees
• Supervise daily warehouse activities, including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, logistics, floor productivity, shipping supplies procurement and general customer service
• Schedule and oversee the warehouse team, and manage the flow and quality of work to maximize efficiency
• Foster a positive, productive and safe work environment
• Manage relationships with suppliers, carriers and customers
• Inspect equipment, tools and machinery regularly and oversee general maintenance when necessary
• Meet regularly with warehouse leads to guide workflow and analyze productivity

Required skills and Qualifications

• Experience working in a warehouse environment in a role managing hourly employees
• Proficiency with warehouse procedures and policies
• Excellent multitasking abilities, with problem-solving skills and leadership qualities
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong leadership capabilities with experience in team management.
• Ability to work collaboratively with all company personnel
• Ability to operate forklifts safely or willingness to learn
• Ability to deliver effective feedback, both written and verbal

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
