Skate Warehouse is looking for a Social Media Editor to create unique content that engages followers across multiple social media platforms. Skate product knowledge and familiarity with the industry is preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Social Media

• Create unique content that engages followers across multiple social media platforms
• Share relevant customer feedback with Customer Service, Purchasing, and Marketing departments. Support promotions and sales as assigned.
• Use social media tools to craft and release content to our social channels
• Develop social media campaigns in collaboration with the marketing team
• Respond to inquiries on all social media channels.
• Become an extension of the company’s brand to connect with existing customers, and acquire new ones
• Analyze the company’s social strategy to make frequent improvement suggestions
• Stay up to date with new and emerging trends to help keep Skate Warehouse’s social media presence consistently relevant
• Establish key performance indicators to understand efficacy of existing social campaigns and adjust strategy for further optimizations

Content Development

• Create and publish unique product descriptions for use on the website.
• Maintain product information, including categories, images, and how they are displayed.
• Edit written content produced by others.
• Test fit or work with a fit model to accurately provide detailed fit descriptions for apparel.
• Maintain online tools and customer resources.
• Participate in the production of videos for placement on the website, television, social media channels and other outlets. Duties may include on camera talent for skate product review videos, product informational videos, commercials, “how to” and other educational skate videos. Off-camera duties may include pre-production planning and development, script writing, on-set assistance and post-production proofing.
• Research and compile original descriptions that speak to the specific consumer for that product.
• Obtain and record technical product details, specifications, and measurements.
• Create engaging articles that bring traffic to the website.

• Guarantee content is engaging, professional, clear and error-free.

Creative Vision

• Partake in the ongoing development of the content vision for Skate Warehouse by providing feedback on the success of current endeavors, contributing new ideas, and researching what is being done by others in the e-commerce space.

Product Knowledge

• Gain and maintain a thorough understanding of products and brands. Communicate functions, features and benefits of products in written and video formats.
• Attend vendor sell-in meetings and training sessions when necessary to learn about new products.

Product Testing

• Test the user experience for various product and provide detailed feedback via the company website or through video reviews.

Requirements

• Skate product knowledge and familiarity with the industry.
• Proven excellent communication skills, with an emphasis in strong writing skills.
• Strong organizational skills to track and prioritize incoming apparel for fit

Work Environment - This position operates in a fast-paced professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment, such as computers, tablets and telephones. This position may require on-camera assignments which involve recording the employee with photography/videography equipment. The role may require travel via vehicle to off-site shooting locations, such as skate parks. At the skate park the employee may be required to test a variety of skate products such as but not limited to decks, shoes, and components.

Physical Demands - The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:

• Regularly required to handle objects, type on a computer, use tablets and phones and computer software.
• The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
• The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
• Frequently required to sit in a stationary position for prolonged periods of time, in addition to occasionally moving about inside the building.
• Occasionally required to stoop, bend, twist, reach, kneel, crouch or climb.
• Must regularly lift and/or move objects that weigh less than ten pounds, occasionally lift and/or move items that weigh between 10 – 20 pounds and rarely lift and/or move items that weigh between 20 - 50 pounds.
• Ability to test running equipment which may include running in the product over smooth and uneven surfaces.
