As a key member of our engineering department, you will be involved in the design, analysis, and execution of structural projects from conception through completion. Sportsfield Specialties, Inc. is seeking a mid-level Structural Engineer for its Delhi, NY location. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be involved in the design, analysis, and execution of structural projects from conception through completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in structural engineering principles and a passion for problem-solving in real-world applications.
Responsibilities/Duties include but are not limited to:
- Design and analyze structural systems in the sports construction space and ensure compliance with local codes and standards, while maintaining a strong focus on design for manufacture (DFM), and cost consciousness.
- Collaborate with project architects, designers, and contractors to ensure project success during all phases, and troubleshoot on-site issues as they arise during installation and assembly.
- Create detailed and accurate drawing sets for use in customer submittals, stamping packages, and production.
- Review and approve contractor submittals, including shop drawings and material specifications to ensure compliance with internal manufacturing means and methods.
- Work closely with Professional Engineering partners to facilitate the submission and stamping of structural designs.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are hit.
Skills:
- Excellent work ethic within a team-first environment.
- Must have attention to detail with high quality output.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines at once.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel.
- Familiarity with ERP systems a plus.
- Familiarity with Steel and Aluminum Fabrication processes a plus.
- Familiarity with CAD Software (Solidworks/AutoCAD preferred).
- Familiarity with Structural Analysis Software (RISA preferred).
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- 3-5 years of professional experience with a focus on both design and analysis of steel structures and foundations.
- Strong understanding of relevant design codes (IBC, ASCE 7, AISC 360, ADM, ACI 318, etc.)
- Engineer-in-Training Certification a plus.
