What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler (2nd Shift) position at Sportsfield Specialties?
SSI is seeking a hands-on Material Handler for the 2nd shift at the NY2 location who can work independently and/or with others as a production team member with good analytical skills. Candidate must be reliable and flexible with assigned schedule.
Responsibilities/Duties include but not limited to:
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with the required procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Independently identify material requirements for jobs based on job traveler information.
- Utilize lift trucks (primarily CombiLift) and overhead cranes to move job materials to their proper destination in a timely, safe, and organized manner.
- Accurately enter data into ERP system as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned. Expected other duties include but not limited to operating conveyor sand blast machine and assisting in offloading material from paint carts.
Required Qualifications:
Skills:
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task in a busy environment, manage your time and be self-motivated.
- Ability to complete tasks in a safe and efficient manner in a deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to use and operate power tools, ladders, and warehouse equipment safely.
Experience/Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous CombiLift operation preferred but not required.
Hours: Monday – Thursday: 2:30pm to 1:00am.
The starting pay indicated represents the minimum pay for the position. The starting pay may vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, prior experience, knowledge, skill, and education as they relate to the position’s qualifications, and internal equity. The posted starting pay reflects just one component of our total benefit/rewards package.
