In this role, the Preventive Maintenance Technician will maintain equipment and facilities to operate in the safest and most productive condition to enable production of high-quality, fresh, human-grade pet food. This job requires strong mechanical aptitude, communication, and team building skills to support site objectives.

In this role, the Preventive Maintenance Technician will maintain equipment and facilities to operate in the safest and most productive condition to enable production of high-quality, fresh, human-grade pet food. This job requires strong mechanical aptitude, communication, and team building skills to support site objectives.
Responsibilities
- Prioritize individual safety, product quality, and food safety and report any behavior or occurrence that may impact these
- Analyze condition and perform preventive/predictive maintenance on production equipment, building, utilities, and all associated equipment
- Support production associates on set-up and basic troubleshooting of equipment
- Ensure all work-orders are complete and accurate, including planned and unplanned assignments and provide feedback to operators as required
- Demonstrate familiarity with mechanical systems such as, but not limited to, bearings, bearing housing, sprocket configurations, chain assemblies, conveyor belts, clutch mechanisms, pneumatics (cylinders and other), hydraulics (cylinders and systems)
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Must Have
- High school diploma or GED required
- Six months maintenance experience
- Must be able to read and comprehend basic blue-prints and mechanical drawings
- Must be able to read and understand how to use electrical multimeter
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
- Proficient in basic mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Demonstrated competency in computer and PC software (e.g. CMMS, Microsoft)
- Food manufacturing experience
- Working knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, SPC
- Working knowledge of Lean/TPM manufacturing principles
- Good theoretical knowledge and ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits (AC/DC, single/polyphase, low/high voltage) and all related equipment both power and logic
- Familiarity with refrigeration equipment
- Working proficiency in Spanish
- Physical Demands: lifting and lowering up to 50 pounds, reaching, standing, walking, stooping, crawling, twisting, repetitive motions, working in high elevations (above 6 feet)
- Ability to work with allergens and chemicals that might be present in food environment
- Ability to work in hot (60℉ to 100℉), cold (-20℉ to 60℉), noisy, dusty, and wet environmental working conditions
- Able to wear safety PPE (hard hat, body harness, face shield, steel-toed boots)
- Able to adhere to GMP requirements (hair/beard nets, uniforms, hygiene)
