Responsibilities
We seek a motivated PR industry-enthused intern to help with day-to-day tasks and contribute to the team. This is an unpaid, virtual internship, and the position will involve working closely with the founder and our PR team in writing, researching, pitching, brainstorming, and much more. This is a hands-on internship designed to give you an understanding of the industry and allow you to walk away with transferable skills.
Academic credit is available.
Here are a few of the responsibilities and learning opportunities you'll have:
- Writing and contributing ideas for pitches
- Researching media contacts and creating media lists
- Monitoring news coverage
- Keeping up-to-date with current pop culture and trends
- Learning and navigating MuckRack and Google Drive
- Creating client press clippings
- Contributing to company blog, social media, and newsletter
- Participate in weekly team calls and brainstorm sessions
Requirements
- Must be a Junior or Senior in college and majoring in either Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, or Journalism
- Available a minimum of three days a week
- Able to commit to Spring/Summer or Fall/Winter duration
- Must be a strong writer
- Interest in beauty and health
- Must have a basic understanding of Muckrack (we receive training during internship)
- Have a working computer with Internet access as this position is entirely remote
Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Proficiency in social media platforms and their analytics
- Basic knowledge of public relations principles and practices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Pursuing a degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field
- Experience with content creation and copywriting is a plus
- Previous internship or relevant work experience is a plus
