Spotlight Sitters LLC is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pet Sitter's to provide exceptional care for pets, either in the pet’s own home or through boarding inside the sitter’s home. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for animals and the ability to manage various pet-related tasks while ensuring the safety and well-being of the pets in their care. This role requires flexibility, as some pet sitting will also take place during the day, in addition to overnight care and boarding. Strong communication skills and attention to detail are essential for interacting with pet owners. The position requires Canine and Feline CPR Certification, Canine and Feline First Aid Certificate, and NAPPS certification. The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of experience in pet sitting or animal care.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for pets, including feeding, walking, and administering medications as needed.
- Care for pets during the day and overnight, either in the pet's home or through boarding inside your own home.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for all pets by maintaining hygiene standards.
- Perform basic grooming tasks such as brushing and bathing as required.
- Monitor the health and behavior of pets, reporting any concerns to the owner promptly.
- Handle various types of animals with confidence, including dogs and cats of different breeds and temperaments.
- Assist with heavy lifting when necessary, such as moving pet supplies or assisting larger animals.
- Maintain clear communication with pet owners regarding their pet’s needs and any incidents that may arise during care.
- Provide companionship and playtime to ensure pets receive adequate social interaction.
- Transport animals safely to appointments (e.g., vet, grooming) as needed, ensuring they are calm and secure during transportation.
Job Requirements
- Must have 3–5 years of experience in pet care or animal handling.
- Comfortable with transporting animals safely, whether to veterinary appointments, grooming sessions, or other necessary destinations. Must have a reliable vehicle with appropriate pet restraints, such as pet seat belts or carriers.
- Familiarity with kennel environments or veterinary settings is a plus.
- Experience with boarding pets in your own home or providing care in client homes is required.
- Skills in animal restraint and handling techniques are beneficial.
- Experience in customer service is valuable for effective communication with pet owners.
- Knowledge of basic grooming practices is advantageous for maintaining pet hygiene.
- Canine and Feline CPR Certification and Canine and Feline First Aid Certificate are required.
- NAPPS certification is required.
