About the Role:
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and experienced Survey Project Manager to join our team in Greensboro, NC. This position involves overseeing and managing multiple large-scale construction projects across the western half of North Carolina. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, quality, and efficiency of surveying operations for projects ranging from $10M to $100M .
As the Survey Project Manager, you will be responsible for resource management, project coordination, and quality control, while maintaining close communication with operations teams and project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee multiple survey projects, including warehousing, data centers, pipelines, rail, and large site development projects.
- Coordinate and communicate with field crews, ensuring project needs are met and schedules are maintained.
- Conduct quality checks on as-built drawings using CAD software.
- Review and submit as-builts and ensure all deliverables meet company standards.
- Perform point computations for stakeouts as needed, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project requirements.
- Attend project meetings and provide survey-related guidance to operations teams.
- Conduct biweekly or monthly site visits, depending on project size and complexity.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Survey PM experience w/ minimum of 5-7 years of experience in surveying, progressing through roles such as Rodman, Party Chief, and CAD Technician.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Trimble Business Center (TBC) and/or Civil 3D is required.
- Familiarity with machine control and construction stakeout workflows is preferred.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of large site development, including erosion control, grading, and sequencing of construction activities.
- Communication: Exceptional ability to coordinate with field crews, project stakeholders, and operations teams.
- Travel: Willingness to travel regionally, with minimal overnight stays (1-2 nights per month). Day travel is approximately 50% of the role.
- Education: PLS certification is not required but will be supported for candidates interested in pursuing licensure.
