What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hourly Elementary School Paraeducator (Title I) - 24/25 SY position at Spotsylvania County Public Schools?
Title I is a federal program that provides financial assistance to public schools and school divisions with high percentages of children from low-income families. The program's goal is to ensure that all children receive a fair, equitable, and high-quality education, and to close educational achievement gaps.
Spotsylvania County Public Schools is seeking an hourly P araeducator to assist teachers and other professional practitioners by providing instructional support in Title I classrooms through encouraging, supporting and uplifting students at Lee Hill Elementary School to achieve their maximum potential.
Essential Job Functions :
- Assists students with the organization and completion of daily work assignments
- Assists with evaluating and testing students
- Works with small groups of students in various subject areas
- Follows established procedures for monitoring student behavior when supervising small or large groups
- Monitors students whereabouts and observe student safety
- Performs routine clerical duties such as copying, typing, answering / making telephone calls, and basic troubleshooting
- Performs additional non-instructional duties including, but not limited to, cafeteria duty, bus duty, hall duty, and office duty

Employment Terms : This position is classified as an as hourly support role. The schedule for this position will be considered part-time and structured on an hourly, as needed basis. This position is evaluated annually.
