The Instructional Technology Aide (ITA) is a member of the Instructional Technology team responsible for providing high quality, reliable and consistent instructional technology customer service to teachers, students, staff, and families throughout Spotsylvania County Public School campuses. The ITA functions as the first-responder to end users’ concerns and troubleshoots hardware, software, applications and infrastructure.
Essential Job Functions:
- Provides technical maintenance of computer workstations, laptops, chromebooks, and tablets, as well as other technology equipment such as projectors, smartboards and printers.
- Provides technical support of instructional equipment to staff and students, including administrative software applications.
- Redirects all issues that cannot be resolved to the Field Tech or other appropriate Instructional Technology support by submitting a work order ticket.
- Monitors local area network resources and performs basic network troubleshooting to diagnose, isolate, and provide feedback to higher level support.
- Provides support and trains users on various technology resource usage, applications and best practices (i.e. logging in, printing, file management, email, etc.).
- Installs, configures, and maintains approved applications and re-images workstations when needed or as periodically required.
- Provides “light” network administration and security to include user account management, email distribution lists, virus/malware detection and removal, file system management functions such as file purges, directory moves, etc.; creates tickets for advanced troubleshooting.
- Reports misuse of technology resources to appropriate personnel.
- Maintains an accurate and up-to-date inventory of all computer hardware & software and reports all technology equipment damage and/or loss to school administration.
- Communicates and works cooperatively with all instructional technology services staff as well as instructional and administrative staff.
- Assists in purchasing and procuring technology supplies needed, as funded by the school’s technology supply budget.

Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Current (valid, not expired) State Driver's License
- One (1) year of experience providing IT support to an office or organization, ideally within the Education industry

Employment Terms: Employment may be offered as a 10-Month (200 Day) contract, at a minimum of 7.5 hours worked per day. This position is evaluated annually.
