Job Description:
This role involves teaching and/or training services to students in various capacities, including general instruction and specialized subjects like Algebra Readiness. The successful candidate will leverage strong communication skills to collaborate with colleagues, parents, and stakeholders to support student success.
Essential Functions:
- Meet and instruct students in assigned locations at designated times
- Design coherent instruction based on knowledge of subject matter and current instructional practices
- Plan instruction to achieve desired objectives reflecting Virginia Standards of Learning and division curriculum guidelines
- Prepare for classes assigned and show evidence of lesson preparation upon request
- Diagnose individual, group, and program needs and plan for appropriate use of time, materials, and resources
- Evaluate students' progress and provide prompt, specific feedback
- Use assessment strategies and instruments to make instructional decisions to improve student learning
- Administer standardized tests according to established procedures
