What are the responsibilities and job description for the Swim Lesson Aide position at Spotsylvania County?
Under general supervision of Swim Lesson Instructor, position is responsible for teaching swimming lessons according to class level to program participants. Employee is responsible for the safety of class participants. Reports to Special Events Coordinator• Supports the instructor during swim lessons, according to the guidelines set forth by the
Swim Lesson Coordinator/Instructor.
• Instructs Monday through Thursday, providing make up classes on Fridays.
• Provides instructional support for the entire class time.
• Stores all swim lesson equipment in shed or storage room.
• Attends required in-service training.
• Performs other related duties as required.Any combination of education and experience providing the required swimming skills and knowledge for successful performance. Knowledge and /or training in swimming strokes, techniques in teaching the strokes; demonstrates ability to work with adults and children.
Must be 14 years of age or older.
Swim team experience or the ability to demonstrate swimming skills to the Swim Lesson Coordinator/Instructor preferred.
Must be able to perform all skills taught in lessons for all levels.
