Spotter is a platform for Creators, providing services and software designed to accelerate growth for the world’s best Creators and brands. Creators working with Spotter can access the capital, knowledge, community, and personalized AI software products they need to succeed. With unique knowledge of how Creators work, the resources they need to grow, and the challenges they face, Spotter is empowering top YouTube Creators to succeed.
As our Senior Director of Design, you'll lead a team of skilled designers, working directly with our Head of Product to define and execute our product strategy. You'll be at the forefront of solving fascinating design challenges in the emerging space of AI-powered creative tools.
What You'll Do
- Lead and mentor a team of talented designers, fostering their growth while maintaining exceptional design quality.
- Partner with our Head of Product to shape the strategic direction of Spotter Studio.
- Champion user-centered design practices across the organization.
- Establish and refine design processes that enhance team productivity and output quality.
- Drive the evolution of our design system to ensure consistency and efficiency.
- Stay ahead of emerging trends in AI, design tools, and creator needs.
- Foster a culture of design excellence and innovation.
- Actively participate in solving complex UX challenges when needed.
- Hybrid role based in Los Angeles (3 days per week in office).
- For exceptional candidates outside the LA region, we offer a flexible remote arrangement with monthly in-person collaboration (1-2 times per month).
- 8 years of product design experience, with demonstrated progression in scope and impact.
- 4 years of experience leading and managing design teams.
- Proven track record working on complex SaaS products at scale.
- History of establishing and scaling design practices across organizations.
- Proven track record of leading design teams (5 designers) and shipping successful products.
- Deep understanding of UX principles and research methodologies.
- Strong product thinking and ability to balance user needs with business goals.
- Expert-level proficiency with Figma and modern design tools.
- Experience with SaaS products (B2B or B2C at scale).
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Active engagement with and curiosity about the AI / ML landscape.
- Experience establishing and scaling design processes.
- Experience working on products for creators, artists, or designers.
- Background in designing AI-powered products.
- Understanding of the creator economy.
- Experience with motion design and interaction patterns.
