Job Overview :
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Trucking Safety Manager to join our team. In this role you will oversee the safety programs and initiatives within our trucking operations to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements minimize risks and maintain a culture of safety. You will be responsible for implementing safety policies conducting training and leading efforts to reduce accidents and incidents across the fleet.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop implement and continuously improve the safety policies and procedures for all trucking operations in compliance with federal state and local regulations.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations including FMCSA DOT OSHA and other industry standards.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of vehicles facilities and operational practices to identify risks and implement corrective actions.
- Lead the investigation of accidents incidents and nearmisses ensuring thorough analysis and reporting to prevent future occurrences.
- Develop and conduct safety training programs for drivers dispatchers and other employees promoting a proactive approach to safety awareness and accident prevention.
- Track and report safety performance metrics including accident rates nearmiss incidents and safety compliance.
- Collaborate with management and other departments to integrate safety initiatives into all aspects of operations.
- Assist in the development and execution of a driver safety incentive program to encourage safe driving behaviors.
- Stay uptodate on the latest industry trends best practices and regulatory changes related to trucking safety.
- Provide coaching mentorship and support to drivers and staff to ensure safety protocols are consistently followed.
