Description
Spotts, Stevens and McCoy is currently recruiting for a Graduate Geologist to join our Water Resources team in Reading, PA. This individual will play a key role in protecting drinking water resources throughout Pennsylvania by participating in the development of new wells and being part of the SSM team that assists PaDEP in developing Source Water Protection Plans. The ideal candidate will have education and/or experience with analyzing groundwater data and GIS software. Working with a team, this individual will assist in delineating groundwater sources, field oversight of well construction projects, and creating maps and figures in GIS.

Primary Responsibilities
- Participate in field activities for the development and permitting of community water supply projects.
- Oversee well drilling, collecting field data, and interpreting subsurface conditions.
- Organize, write, and edit reports and other technical documents.
- Delineate groundwater sources for source water protection plans.
- Respond to client requests for sinkhole oversight and remediation.
- Calculate watershed budgets and analyze groundwater data.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or related field of study.
- 0 - 5 years of related work experience.
- Knowledge of GIS from classes or experience. Other technical software a plus.
- Detail-oriented with ability to execute technical analysis.
- Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, and schedules.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to drive to off-site projects in regional area.
This position is based out of our Reading PA office; however, there may be some flexibility for a hybrid- work model.
