What are the responsibilities and job description for the Jr. Molding Technician position at Spotwork?
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Jr. Molding Technician to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining injection molding machines to produce high-quality plastic parts in accordance with company and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in setting up and operating injection molding machines under the guidance of senior technicians
- Support mold changes, startup, and shutdown procedures
- Monitor production for basic quality issues and report abnormalities
- Perform visual inspections of molded parts for defects such as flash, short shots, or discoloration
- Ensure materials and tools are prepped and staged for production
- Keep workstations clean and organized according to safety and 5S standards
- Document basic machine settings and production information as required
- Learn and follow all company safety, quality, and operational procedures
Qualifications:
- 6 months to 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or injection molding environment preferred
- Basic understanding of injection molding machinery is a plus
- Good mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Experience running Arburg, Niigata or Batendorf machines is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Comfortable working in a standing, hands-on environment for extended periods
Shift Details:
- Timing: Monday - Friday, 8:30AM - 5PM
- Pay Rate: $18.00-20.00/hr
