The salary range(s) represents our good faith estimate for the role at this time. Director of Enterprise Portfolio Management Pay Range - $144,700.00 - $188,100.00

Exciting Opportunity: Director of Enterprise Portfolio Management

Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for driving business value through exceptional project management? We’re seeking a dynamic and results-driven Director of Enterprise Portfolio Management to lead the way in optimizing our organization's portfolio of projects and programs. This is a senior leadership role with significant impact, where you’ll align initiatives to corporate objectives, manage resources effectively, and guide our Project Management Office (PMO) to new heights of excellence.

About the Role:

As the Director of Enterprise Portfolio Management, you will be responsible for overseeing the strategic alignment, execution, and governance of our organization’s portfolio. This pivotal role ensures that all projects and programs deliver measurable benefits, mitigate risks, and maximize business value across the enterprise. You will establish a structured approach to portfolio management, enhancing decision-making, optimizing resource allocation, and ensuring initiatives align with our corporate vision.

Key Responsibilities: 

Enterprise Portfolio Strategy & Governance:

  • Align the project portfolio with corporate objectives to maximize business value.
  • Establish and maintain governance frameworks for project selection, prioritization, and execution.
  • Define and implement portfolio management best practices, methodologies, and performance metrics.
  • Oversee portfolio risk management to proactively identify and mitigate risks.

PMO Development & Leadership:

  • Build and maintain a high-performing PMO that drives execution excellence.
  • Develop and implement standardized project management frameworks, tools, and methodologies.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the PMO team to enhance project delivery capabilities.
  • Continuously improve PMO processes to increase efficiency, scalability, and organizational impact.

Stakeholder Engagement & Decision Support:

  • Partner with senior executives and business leaders to assess, prioritize, and balance enterprise initiatives.
  • Facilitate portfolio-level reporting and insights for senior leadership, offering recommendations that support strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure transparency in project execution through consistent communication and performance tracking.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration to align project execution with business needs and strategic goals.

Performance & Value Realization:

  • Establish and track KPIs to measure project portfolio performance and business impact.
  • Ensure benefits realization through continuous monitoring and post-implementation reviews.
  • Optimize resource allocation to maximize efficiency and return on investment.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and innovation in project and portfolio management.

Staffing and Budgeting Needs:

  • Select, evaluate, and develop a high-performing team to ensure PMO success.
  • Manage departmental budgets and resource plans, ensuring alignment with corporate priorities.
  • Monitor expenditures and staffing levels to ensure compliance with approved budgets and strategic goals.

To be successful in the role we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Finance, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field required.
  • Ten (10) Years of program or project management experience with a minimum of five years of direct supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated experience in increasingly demanding leadership role(s)
  • Demonstrated ability to work with executive leadership and influence decision-making
  • Understand, comply with and enforce SPP Policies and Procedures, Business Practices, SPP Criteria, and SPP Tariff
  • Proven experience in aligning projects with business objectives and managing project prioritization at a high level
  • Experience in managing budgets
  • Strong understanding of risk management and strategic decision-making
  • Familiarity with enterprise change management frameworks
  • Ability to drive cross-functional collaboration and align teams on priorities.
  • Flexibility and the ability to function with constantly changing and multiple priorities

Preferred:

  • Advanced degree in a business-related field
  • Experience within the electric utility industry
  • Proven track record of leading a Project Management Office (PMO) or Enterprise Portfolio Management function
  • PMP, PfMP, PgMP, CSM, or Lean Six Sigma certification

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type, Location, and Hours:

This is a full-time, hybrid position based in Little Rock, Arkansas. The standard workweek is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with extended hours potentially required.

Travel Requirement:

  • This position requires minimal travel (approximately 10%).
