• Currently pursuing a degree in Entomology, Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of entomological principles and research methods.
• Proficiency in data analysis software and laboratory equipment.
• Strong observational and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication, both written and verbal, and teamwork abilities.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and other technology necessary for successful day-to-day functioning in a business environment.
• Ability to pass background screening requirements, including identity, education, credit, and criminal history checks.

Position Title: Entomology Intern

Department: Technical

Reports to: Technical Director

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Exemption: NA

EEOC Class: Admin Support

Salary: $20-25 hourly

Position Summary:

Working with the Technical and Operations teams, entomology interns will explore the fascinating world of insects, contributing to research and projects that advance understanding of entomology and innovation in pest management. This role involves hands-on work with insect specimens and scientific equipment, data collection and analysis, as well as collaboration with colleagues across various departments.

Essential Functions:

· Assist in the collection and identification of insect specimens.

· Maintain and organize insect collections and databases.

· Label and prepare insect collections for mailing.

· Husbandry and maintenance of cockroaches and other insects.

Physical Requirements:

Long periods of stationary work, working on a computer, moving between various work areas, going up and down stairs, talking on the phone, working with office/computer equipment, and sitting at desk or table while listening, talking and taking notes.
