- BASIC PURPOSE
The Director of Business Development is responsible for the direction and leadership of operational, financial, programmatic and personnel activities for the business development function in the Wellspring market. The business development function includes identifying growth opportunities; maintaining, developing, and advancing strategic relationships; developing partnership models; and directing implementation of proactive and responsive growth tactics.
While the range of duties and responsibilities is broad and varied, the positions major responsibilities include assessing market conditions and opportunities, developing consistent processes to communicate insights with leadership and to facilitate decision-making, maintaining enduring relationships with key partners, ensuring targeted deployment of educational, consultative, and other services, and initiating formal relationships through legal agreements. The role is also responsible for directing the day-to-day operations, budgeting, financial management, and human resource management of the business development department, once developed under the supervision of the Wellspring Administrator.
The Director coordinates efforts with leaders and staff within the Wellspring branches, business development leaders within GMS and its affiliates, executive leadership, physician leaders, including academic departments, clinical operations leaders and other individuals and teams throughout our service area.
The Business Development Director works and reports under the general direction from the Administrator Home Health and Hospice.
- EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1. Bachelors degree in a relevant subject area such as health care management, business administration or related field.
2. Masters or advanced degree preferred in related field.
3. Five years experience in business development, mergers and acquisitions, leading negotiations, or related experience.
4. Experience in a large academic or complex healthcare organization that included business development, relationship management, merger and acquisition or related experience.
