Location:
Special Education - Valid Texas certification for position (Diagnostician), valid Texas license by the State Board of Examiners of Psychologists or valid Texas licensure by TDLR for Speech Language Pathologists (along with ASHA CCC).
- Master's degree in related field.
- Principal Certification preferred.
- Leadership experience preferred.
- Certification must meet requirements for becoming and remaining qualified for this position in a manner required by Federal and/or State law.
- Bilingual Preferred.
- Strong communication, public relations and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to grow and develop leadership staff in the areas of special education evaluation and ARD compliance.
- Knowledge of special education policy and procedures.
- Ability to implement policies and procedures.
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience as a Diagnostician, Licensed Specialist in School Psychology/School Psychologist and/or Speech Language Pathologist.
- Oversee and monitor evaluations completed by Diagnosticians and/or LSSPs.
- Review written evaluation reports and provide feedback to evaluators.
- Provide consultation to Evaluation Staff to identify potential disabilities and provide strategies to support student learning.
- Deliver appropriate coaching, training, and resources to support the professional growth of evaluation leaders and staff.
- Manage the referral process and assignment of evaluations to staff to ensure evaluation and initial ARD Meetings are completed in compliance with State and Federal Timelines.
- Monitor timeline compliance and maintain data needed for state reporting requirements. Manage the process of reporting data as required by the state.
- Manage the Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE) process.
- Exemplify and develop positive interpersonal relationships among evaluators, teachers, staff and other personnel.
- Collaborate with central special education, campus and district staff on the appropriate allocation of resources.
- Collaborate with central special education, campus and district staff on federal and state compliance.
- Assist staff in the implementation of data collection and the interpretation of data to determine disability conditions and make recommendations.
- Comply with all district and department regulations and services.
- Ensure proper documentation of SHARS submissions.
- Ensure ARD documents are maintained with accuracy at the building level.
- Recruit, hire and assign diagnosticians, ARD Facilitators and School Psychologists
- Contribute to evaluation of assessment practices, instructional programs and personnel and recommend improvements in the design and implementation of the programs and services.
- Attend staffing/ARD’s when appropriate to assist with the interpretation of evaluation data and the development and/or evaluation of individual educational plans.
- Engage in professional growth opportunities to gain an awareness of current “best practices”.
- Maintain an awareness of current special education policy and procedures.
- Train Evaluation staff on best practices of evaluation
- Train staff who facilitate ARD Meetings in effective ARD practices and documentation.
- Collaborate with all evaluators to ensure students are being assessed in all areas of suspected disability.
- Collaborate with appropriate assistive technology staff to meet the needs of students and teachers working with technology.

Primary Purpose:
