GOAL:
Performs routine to moderately complex maintenance and repair work. Maintains landscape and lawn care.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs general and preventative maintenance for all equipment, as assigned.
Performs simple construction tasks.
Maintains the school grounds to include lawn care, shrub and tree trimming, etc...
Resolves or prevents injurious or otherwise hazardous conditions (e.g., broken locks, faulty bleachers
and/or other furniture, broken glass).
Cleans equipment and tools after use and maintains cleanliness and order in storage areas.
Reports equipment malfunctions and facility maintenance needs to immediate supervisor.
Performs routine maintenance on facility equipment (e.g., cut and replace HVAC filters, change light
bulbs, install equipment).
Accurately documents time and materials utilized to complete work orders.
Assists other trade workers with special projects, as assigned.
Utilizes current technology, as appropriate, to perform job functions and participates in training
programs offered to increase technology skill level and proficiency related to job assignment.
Performs related duties as directed.

Physical Ability: Tasks require the ability to exert strenuous effort in work involving heavy physical
activity, typically involving some combination of standing; walking; sitting; reaching with hands and
arms; kneeling; crawling; climbing; balancing; bending; crouching or twisting. While performing the
duties of this job, the employee must occasionally lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds and push and/or pull
up to 100 pounds. Manual dexterity is frequently required.
Sensory Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, some tasks regularly require oral
communication ability; the ability to perceive and discriminate sounds; the ability to perceive and
discriminate odors; most tasks require visual perception and discrimination and the ability to distinguish
color.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, tasks are regularly performed with
exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as extreme temperatures; outdoor weather
conditions; work near moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals;
risk of electrical shock; and noise/vibration.
Requirements:High school diploma or GED
Minimum of two (2) years experience in maintenance work
Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License
