POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Director, Workforce Planning is responsible for optimizing workforce efficiency, ensuring labor costs are aligned with business needs, and developing labor strategies that support both short-term and long-term organizational goals. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, project management experience, and a deep understanding of workforce dynamics within the education system. This individual will be responsible for ensuring that we have the right number of educators, administrators, and support staff in place to meet student needs while balancing budgetary constraints and operational goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and implement workforce planning strategies that align with Early childhood education (ECE) business objectives.
- Analyze historical data and business forecasts to predict future workforce needs.
- Collaborate with school administrators, department heads, and HR teams to forecast staffing needs based on academic cycles, student enrollment, and special program requirements.
- Analyze current staffing patterns, student-teacher ratios, and resource allocation to ensure efficient labor utilization.
- Ensure alignment between available workforce resources and educational priorities, such as student success, class sizes, and program offerings.
- Oversee and manage the execution of workforce planning initiatives, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in alignment with organizational objectives.
- Work with senior leadership to address labor challenges and make strategic decisions that balance operational needs and educational quality.
- Conduct regular data analysis to assess labor trends, identify inefficiencies, and provide actionable insights.
- Develop and deliver clear, concise reports for senior management on labor performance, costs, and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop, implement, and maintain best practice policies for labor planning that comply with educational standards and regulations.
Serve as the primary point of contact for labor planning initiatives across the organization.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in labor planning, workforce management or operations planning.
- High demonstrated proficiency in Excel
- Proven track record in managing labor strategies, optimizing staffing levels, and improving workforce efficiencies.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and develop long-term workforce plans that meet the evolving needs of the ECE line of business
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to drive workforce decisions and improvements.
- Experience with workforce management tools such as Nutsuite, Dayforce, or similar.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multiple teams.
- Frequent speaking and listening (50-75%). Must be proficient in speaking, writing and reading English to include reading and comprehending policies and procedures, and being able to correspond in English.
