Education SpecialistThe Education Specialist reports to the Senior Director of Education and works directly with the entire Education Team. As a member of the IK-12 Education Team, the Education Specialist will collaborate with the Education Managers and Senior Director of Education to support instructional efficacy in our schools. The specialist’s primary responsibility is to support teachers with curriculum implementation and high-impact instruction. Additionally, the Education Specialist may lead teacher cohorts within the Education Team’s distributed leadership system.
Location Preference: Remote (Qualified candidates must be in California)We are seeking an Education Specialist located in the Pacific Time (PT) zone to support our schools and teams across the West Coast. This remote position requires the ability to travel regularly to our independent K-12 schools nationwide.
The ideal candidate:
Is skilled in comprehensive standards-based planning, instruction, and feedback.
Has a proven record of exceptional student outcomes.
Has expertise in elementary grades.
Has experience as a teacher lead or an instructional coach at their school or in a previous school.
Key Responsibilities
Instructional Support:
Provide ongoing in-person, virtual, and asynchronous professional development to campus teachers and leaders to support effective implementation of curriculum materials and instructional strategies.
Conduct classroom visits and coaching sessions, as requested by school leaders/Regional Directors, to support teachers with curriculum implementation and high-impact instruction.
Work collaboratively with the Education Team to implement current and new educational practices and products, including academic standards, teaching resources, and assessment products.
Data Analysis and Assessment:
Analyze student performance data, assessment results, and feedback to evaluate the effectiveness of curriculum implementation and inform instructional decision-making.
Support teachers in the use of student data to determine instructional needs and take action based on those needs.
Other Responsibilities:
Work collaboratively with the Education Team to implement current and new educational practices and products, including academic standards, teaching resources, and assessment products.
Support teachers in the use of digital curriculum platforms and instructional technology.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; a Master’s degree in Education or Curriculum & Instruction is preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience.
Experience in standards-based planning, instruction, and assessment.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
Proficiency in the use of student data to drive instructional decisions.
Proficiency in the use of technology for teaching and learning.
Ability to adapt to changing educational landscapes and work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Must be able to travel regularly to schools nationwide.
Salary : $80,000 - $90,000
