POSITION OVERVIEW:
This position plays a vital role in supporting the early childhood education (ECE) division by developing high-quality instructional materials, training programs, and curriculum resources. The role involves collaborating with subject matter experts, utilizing instructional design principles, and leveraging technology to create engaging and impactful training materials. The instructional designer plays a crucial role in contributing to the overall success and development of individuals within the early childhood education line of business. This role will focus on delivering both synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences to endure accessibility and engagement for a diverse audience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct thorough needs assessments by collaborating with stakeholders and subject matter experts to identify learning objectives, target audience characteristics, and performance gaps.
Applies pedagogical principles and adult learning theories to design and organize content into effective, learner-centric experiences that align with best practices in early childhood education.
Lead the planning, development, and execution of instructional design projects, ensuring alignment with learning objectives, stakeholder expectations, and project timelines.
Creates engaging and interactive learning materials, including e-learning modules, instructional videos, presentations, and job aids.
Develop assessments and evaluations to measure the effectiveness of training programs.
Develop and deliver synchronous (live, instructor-led) training sessions via webinars, virtual classrooms and workshops.
Design asynchronous (self-paced) learning experiences, including e-learning courses, recorded lectures, and interactive modules.
Implement strategies to ensure engagement and interactivity in both synchronous and asynchronous formats.
Gather and analyze feedback to continuously improve instructional materials and delivery methods.
Utilize learning management systems (LMS), authoring tools, and multimedia tools to enhance instructional materials.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors degree in Instructional Design or a related field.
3 years’ experience in instructional design and e-learning development.
3 years’ experience in instructional design software and authoring tools.
1 years’ experience in project management skills and attention to detail.
Prior experience within the early childhood education field is preferred.
Excellent collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) is a plus
Physical Requirements:
Frequent speaking and listening (over 75%). Must be proficient in speaking, writing and reading English.
Employees are regularly required to speak, hear and use clear vision with or without correction.
Frequent use of computer keyboard and mouse (over 75%).
Sense of sound (ability to to hear verbal discussions), smell, and touch.
Travel:
Must be able to travel by air, rail or, or motor vehicle to company locations for work-related responsibilities and for required professional development, up to 25%
Work Environment & Additional Responsibilities:
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The Instructional Designer may be required to work more than 40 hours a week. Position is year-round.
