On-Call Substitute Teacher

BASIS Independent Bellevue is seeking qualified candidates for an On-Call Substitute Teacher.    What We're Looking For   Teachers who are inspired in their approach, and who stretch the boundaries of learning, are typically the most successful. We encourage enthusiasm and support our instructors to demonstrate the thirst for knowledge to our students. We believe that passion is contagious and so we encourage our teachers to be both creative and innovative.   We are looking for teachers that stretch beyond textbook teaching and bring together instruction methods that will ultimately help a student delve deeper into a subject.   This position serves as an on-call substitute teacher for multiple subject areas across middle school classes, with a focus on Math and English. This is a part-time position.  Essential Teacher Qualifications  Has deep knowledge of and passion for the subject taught   Able to differentiate instruction and engage students in rigorous content   Able to create a positive classroom community and build relationships with students   Has strong verbal and written communication skills with students, colleagues, and parents   Open to feedback and continuous growth   Creative in instructional and classroom management strategies (high warm and high firm)   Cooperative, collaborative, supportive, flexible  Has a strong work ethic and a “do whatever it takes” mindset  Additional Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: A bachelor's or master's degree, preferably in Elementary Education or other related subjects. Demonstrated success in student achievement, child development and classroom management. Candidates must have the ability to obtain a fingerprint clearance card.  Preferred Qualifications: A minimum of 2 years of experience as a classroom teacher is preferred. A successful applicant will demonstrate strong communication skills and be open to new ideas in teaching methods.

Salary : $25 - $28
