About the Role
Van Avery Prep is seeking an enthusiastic and flexible Substitute Teacher. This on-call position requires the ability to step into the classroom and continue the smooth delivery of the day's lesson plans in the absence of the regular classroom teacher.
What you will do:
Follow and implement lesson plans left by the regular classroom teacher.
Maintain classroom management, ensuring a positive and nurturing environment conducive to learning.
Supervise students in the classroom and other areas as needed.
Ensure the classroom is kept orderly and clean during your coverage.
In the case of long-term substitute assignments, develop and deliver lesson plans aligned with school goals and curriculum.
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure a seamless educational experience.
Uphold the school’s values, promoting respect, dignity, and responsibility in all interactions with students.
What We Are Looking For:
Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field is preferred.
Prior experience in a classroom setting, particularly with elementary and middle school students, is highly desirable.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with attention to detail.
Strong organizational skills and punctuality.
Flexibility and adaptability in managing diverse classroom situations.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Patience, professionalism, and a positive attitude.
Ability to maintain discipline and a structured learning environment.
