Position Overview:Are you ready to ignite a passion for learning in students and support their unique educational journey? We are looking for dedicated Substitute Teachers to join our team, leading classes from preschool through 5th grade. As a substitute, you will play a vital role in maintaining the continuity of learning in our school community.
Key Responsibilities:
Follow lesson plans provided by teachers and ensure proper follow-up communication with the teacher afterward.
Supervise students during transitions and recess.
Prepare work documents when necessary.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in classrooms.
Collaborate with other staff and integrate quickly into new classroom environments.
Qualifications and Skills:
Native or near-native fluency in English and/or French.
Experience teaching in primary schools or working with primary school-aged children.
A teaching degree is preferable.
Previous experience as a substitute teacher is a plus.
Availability for short-notice assignments (when possible, assignments are provided in advance).
Strong organizational skills, initiative, kindness, patience, and a proactive approach.
Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
Basic computer skills.
Central Background Registry number in Oregon.
Work Schedule:L’Etoile is open Monday through Friday, 7:50 am to 6:00 pm. Substitute hours will vary based on the needs of the school and your availability.
