Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing the administrative tasks of our medical office. This role requires a strong understanding of medical office management and proficiency in various healthcare software systems.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out procedures.
- Schedule appointments and manage the calendar for healthcare providers.
- Handle incoming calls, addressing patient inquiries and directing calls to appropriate staff.
- Maintain patient records accurately, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of care plans and documentation as needed.
- Process insurance claims and verify patient insurance information.
- Utilize electronic health record systems such as Practice Fusion and Software Unlimited Medical Mastermind for patient management.
- Support medical coding processes, including familiarity with ICD-10 codes.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure smooth operations within the office.
- Provide bilingual support to patients when necessary, enhancing communication and understanding.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred, showcasing strong medical office management skills.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor and professional attitude.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly Practice Fusion and Software Unlimited Medical Mastermind is a plus.
- Knowledge of medical coding practices, including ICD-10 coding standards is advantageous.
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to assist diverse patient populations.
- Proficient in using phone systems and managing multiple lines effectively.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to maintain accurate records and schedules.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
