Full-time, 12-month position available April 14, 2025, at Spring-Ford Area School District. This position is responsible for organizing, coordinating and supervising the district custodial services as well as assisting the Director in organizing, supervising and coordinating the district maintenance and physical plant operation. The Supervisor also functions as the owner/representative for construction and renovation projects.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Makes recommendations regarding staffing, employment, assignment, promotion, transfer and termination of employment of all custodial personnel.
- Coordinates the assignment of maintenance for the district
- Develops and maintains district-wide safety procedures for custodial, maintenance and grounds staff.
- Oversees the implementation of annual maintenance service contracts district-wide.
- Communicate regularly with principals, administrators and operational staff about the needs for the effective operation and cleanliness of the school buildings.
- Review and measure the quantity and quality of work of all assigned staff; conduct quarterly in person inspections and maintain documentation in writing for both formal and informal reviews.
- Utilizes CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) to maintain work requests, work performed, and documenting any safety related concerns and follow up requirements.
- Provide reports as required by the Director of Planning, Operations and Facilities.
- Responsible for approving and reviewing purchases for assigned staff.
- Monitor and approve time records of all maintenance and custodial personnel, and approve all overtime using established procedures and budgets.
- Respond to onsite emergency facilities situations including, alarms, leaks, HVAC issues, and others after hours and on weekends as needed.
- Attend required meetings and serve, as assigned on staff committees.
- Support in the development, implementation, and monitoring of an energy conservation program, making recommendations for efficiency and reduction in the costs of operating the facilities.
- Lead, organize, manage, and supervise all maintenance, grounds, HVAC and custodial operations of the district in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, and Board of Education policies and procedures.
- Provide leadership, direction, and supervision to all assigned staff. Responsible for performance management, training, disciplinary process, and development planning.
Knowledge/Skills Required:
- 10 years facility management experience preferably in a K-12 setting.
- Ability manage operations through CMMS (computerized maintenance management system).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and time management systems
- Working knowledge of all local and ICC codes pertaining to maintenance and construction.
- Knowledge of custodial best practices and training requirements.
- Knowledge of PA School code related to maintaining, procuring materials and services in K-12 setting.
- Ability to read and write specifications, understand blueprints, schematics, and all OSHA and local building codes.
- Ability to directly supervise approximately 20 people and indirectly supervise 50 people.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of the district team.
This is an Act 93 Administrative position. The salary range is $103,000 - $110,000, based on experience. This position is part of the Public School Employees Retirement System (PSERS).
