LPN LTC

Job Overview:

The LPN will be responsible for providing total patient care, administering medications, and assisting with patient care activities in a long-term care facility. This includes collaborating with other healthcare professionals, ensuring patient rights and privacy are upheld, and documenting patient care thoroughly.

Essential Duties:

• Medication administration and care management, including tasks like bathing, dressing, feeding patients, and assisting with examinations/treatments.
• Patient care documentation and ongoing assessment of patients’ progress.
• Monitoring medications for effects and administering IV medications as per the Nevada State Board of Nursing guidelines.
• Supervision of CNAs and other staff, ensuring appropriate care delivery.
• Patient rights advocacy, ensuring patients' privacy and dignity.
• Regular patient care plan updates and collaboration with the RN and physician.

Skills and Abilities Required:

• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
• Ability to work with medications, including IVs and other routes.
• Effective communication and reporting of patient status, changes, and lab results.
• Upholding patient rights and maintaining confidentiality.
• Physical stamina to lift, carry, and stand.

Education and Experience:

• Graduation from a Practical Nurse Program and current LPN licensure in Nevada.
• IV certification required within one year.
• Ability to work closely with elderly patients and their families, maintaining a professional appearance and confidentiality.

Shifts Needed:

• Sunday night shift is the most critical, with possible shifts on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday nights. Additionally, there is a need for Tuesday/Wednesday day shifts.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $40.00 - $55.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 per week
