What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wine Steward position at Spring Hill Vineyards?
As a Seasonal Wine Steward, you will be responsible for delivering an outstanding guest experience by conducting wine tastings, educating visitors about our wine offerings, and helping maintain a welcoming and organized environment ensuring cleanliness, managing inventory, and assisting with various operational tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct guided wine tastings for visitors, sharing knowledge of our wines and the winemaking process.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the tasting room, seating areas, kitchen, and restrooms.
- Assist with retail sales, including suggesting wine pairings, handling transactions, and answering customer inquiries.
- Support vineyard events, tours, and special promotions.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in hospitality, customer service, or retail.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining attention to detail.
- Knowledge of wine tasting techniques and wine pairings is a plus but not required (training will be provided).
- Availability to work weekends and some holidays during the season (May - October, weekends only).
- Must be 18
