Key Responsibilities as Director of Environmental Services:
- Facility Management: Oversee the cleanliness and maintenance of the community, ensuring that it meets health and safety standards.
- Staff Leadership: Manage, train, and evaluate housekeeping and maintenance teams, fostering a culture of respect and accountability.
- Problem Solving: Conduct daily walkthroughs to identify and document maintenance issues; respond promptly to ongoing maintenance requests.
- Budget Management: Assist in developing and adhering to the annual budget for environmental services, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, maintaining necessary logs and documentation.
- Vendor Coordination: Manage relationships with outside service providers for repairs and maintenance, obtaining competitive bids as needed.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to motivate and develop staff in a collaborative environment.
- Strong Communicator: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying information effectively.
- Detail-Oriented: Ability to follow strict guidelines for maintenance and housekeeping procedures.
- Adaptable: Capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Community-Oriented: Passion for enhancing the quality of life for residents through a clean and well-maintained environment.
- High School Diploma or equivalent; degree in facility management or related field preferred.
- Minimum of two years of supervisory experience in housekeeping, maintenance, or environmental services.
- General knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Previous experience in a senior living or healthcare setting is a plus.
