JOB TITLE: Hall Monitor, High School
REPORTS TO: Campus Principal
PAY GRADE: Para 1
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Hall Monitor will provide clerical support, disciplinary support, and staff support to assigned personnel and provide information and/or direction as it may be requested.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- 48 hours of college coursework from an accredited college or university
- Pass Spring Independent School District’s NCLB test in the area of Reading, Writing, and Mathematics (Tests are administered after the recommendation for hire)
- Educational Aide II Certificate (or be willing to obtain)
Preferred:
- One years job related experience
- Associate’s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
- Strong organizational and people skills
- Ability to communicate effectively to students and staff
- Ability to move about campus constantly
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Assist with document preparation as needed
- Assist with student management in and around campus common areas
- Participate in staff development and faculty meetings as assigned
- Monitor halls during the school day
- Lunchroom and bus duty
- Provide disciplinary support for students and teachers
- Perform all other duties as assigned
WORKING/SPECIAL CONDITIONS:
The usual and customary methods of performing this job require the following:
Job may require prolonged periods of time sitting, moderate standing, stooping, bending, reaching and repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer. Ability to maintain emotional control under stress. May require some lifting no more than 10lbs. Overtime is required as necessary.
